You’ve Joined Furendly. What Should You Do Next?
Welcome to Furendly!
You’ve created your account, but what happens next?
Furendly is a community where dog parents and dog lovers help one another with dog care. Instead of paying someone for every stay, members can host dogs to earn Care Credits and use those credits when they need care for their own dog.
Here are the best things to do after registering.
1. Complete Your Profile
Your first step should be completing your Furendly member profile.
Tell the community a little about yourself, your experience with dogs, your home and what kind of care you are comfortable providing.
A complete profile helps other members feel more comfortable connecting with you and makes it easier to find good matches.
Make sure to include:
A clear profile photo
A short introduction about yourself
Your experience with dogs
Information about your home
Any pets already living with you
Your dog-care preferences
Think of your profile as your introduction to your local Furendly community.
2. Add Your Dog
If you have a dog, create their profile next.
This helps potential hosts understand whether your dog will be a good fit for their home and lifestyle.
Include information such as:
Your dog’s name, breed, age and size
A few good photos
Their personality and temperament
Behaviour notes
Their normal routine
How they get along with other dogs or people
Anything a host should know before caring for them
The more useful information you provide, the easier it is for another member to decide whether they are the right match.
3. Complete Your Verification
Trust is important when people are caring for each other’s dogs.
Complete any verification steps shown in your Furendly account. Some member or host features may require your profile and verification to be completed before you can fully participate.
Verification is one of the ways Furendly helps create a more accountable community.
4. Understand Your Care Credits
Furendly works differently from traditional dog-sitting services.
Members use Care Credits instead of paying another member for every sit.
The idea is simple:
Host a dog → Earn Care Credits
Need care for your dog → Use Care Credits
This creates a community where members can contribute when they are available and receive help when they need it.
You do not necessarily need care today to participate. If you have some free weekends or simply enjoy having dogs around, you can start by hosting and build up Care Credits for the future.
5. Browse Dogs You Could Host
Want to earn Care Credits?
Head to the Dogs section.
Here you can discover dogs in the Furendly community that may need care.
Look through their profiles and find dogs that fit your experience, home and schedule.
You are always in control of who you choose to connect with. There is no expectation that you accept every dog.
If you see a dog that seems like a great match, start a conversation with their owner.
6. Browse Hosts for Your Dog
Need someone to care for your dog?
Visit the Hosts section.
You can browse Furendly members who are interested in hosting dogs and look for someone who fits your dog's needs.
Take a look at their:
Profile
Dog-care experience
Home
Resident pets
Availability
Preferences
Finding a good match matters more than simply finding the closest person.
7. Add Your Availability
If you are open to hosting, make sure your availability is up to date.
Whether you are available occasionally, on weekends or during certain periods of the year, adding your availability makes it much easier for dog parents to find you.
You can update it whenever your schedule changes.
8. Start a Conversation
Before arranging care, get to know the other member.
Use Furendly messaging to ask questions about the dog, their routine, the home, expectations and anything else that matters to you.
For example, you might ask:
Dog parents:
“Has my dog stayed with other dogs before?”
Hosts:
“What does a normal day look like for your dog?”
You may also choose to arrange a meet-and-greet before the first stay.
A quick conversation can make everyone, including the dog, much more comfortable.
9. Arrange Your First Stay
Once you find a good match, you can send or receive a care request through Furendly.
Review the dates, times, Care Credits and care details before confirming.
Your booking will then appear in your Furendly account so both members can keep track of the arrangement.
After the stay is complete, follow the prompts in Furendly to complete the care and leave a review.
10. Become Part of the Community
Furendly works best when members do more than simply create an account.
Complete your profile. Add your dog. Explore who's nearby. Host when you can. Ask for help when you need it.
You might meet someone nearby who becomes your dog's favourite host—or discover a dog you love having over whenever their family travels.
That is what Furendly is designed around: dog parents helping dog parents, locally.
